There's no doubt that every field has the potential for scammers, the difficulty with spiritualists, mediums, and the like is never a way to tell whether a person has been defrauded. If you get suckered in a land swindle, you eventually find out. The same with all of the physical-world swindlers.

I wanna say that I believe this about all religions. I'm sure there are some Catholic priests who genuinely believe they talk to God and faith healers who think they're curing people. At the end of the day, though, all we can do is take their word for it. And a lot of people aren't trustworthy when it comes to their sense of self. Money is a factor, but more important to a lot of these people is the way they see themselves.
