Thank you for your friend request
I don’t spend much time on Facebook anymore, so if you want to make sure you’re in touch, consider following my Substack. I send out one newsletter each week plus the occasional bonus post.
If you’re not familiar with Substack, it’s a publishing platform where we can interact without a lot of trolls. Like the Old Facebook or Twitter, you see everything that gets posted (or just posts from people you follow). There’s no algorithm.
Substack is reader-supported so there aren’t any ads, but it’s free to join. You don’t have to pay anything, but if you find someone who is making stuff you like, you can support them. On my page, the only support I want is people reading. I’m crazy grateful for that.
There’s also a chat feature that I use to talk about ideas that interest me and stories I’m considering writing.
Of course, you can just check in from time to time without subscribing.
Anyway, I seriously am interested in keeping in touch, so feel free to pop over and shoot me a note.
Best,
Tony

Sink or Swim
Stripped to his boxers, Bryan Brushmiller stood at the edge of the stormwater retention pond and wondered if it was possible for a Chesapeake Bay retriever to drown. It wasn’t an idle thought, but it felt like one, something he’d overheard somewhere and had been meaning to check. A story about a friend’s uncle who had a dog that liked to swim so much, o…
